Compute & control
Reconfigurable electronics
Common hardware, modular software and trusted production at scale.
The role
The compute and control layer is envisioned as a reusable electronic core with documented interfaces and reconfigurable software. It brings sensing, navigation, communications, health monitoring and flight control into an architecture that can be tested consistently and adapted for different lawful purposes.
Design intent
Simple rules.
Compounding value.
Separate hardware from purpose
A stable board envelope and interface set allow software and selected sensors to change without discarding the complete electronics stack.
Build trust into production
Component provenance, controlled firmware, test records and secure configuration are treated as manufacturing requirements.
Plan for graceful substitution
Documented abstractions reduce dependence on a single chip or supplier when commercial availability changes.
Domestic industrial pathway
Capacity at every layer.
Each stage is designed as part of one American production system, with traceability and qualified alternatives built in.
Trusted components
Qualified processors, sensors, memory, radios and power devices selected with provenance in view.
Domestic electronics
Printed circuit fabrication and assembly organized around a common, testable form factor.
Reusable control layer
Modular code, documented interfaces and configuration control across platform variants.
Program, test, record
Automated loading, functional checks and serial-level records before final integration.
What standardization unlocks
Designed to become a system.
A reusable electronic core
Faster lawful mission reconfiguration
A more resilient component substitution strategy
The broader industrial dividend
Beyond Proteus.
Electronics manufacturing is the connective tissue of modern industry. The board fabrication, packaging, firmware, sensing and test capacity developed here also serves medical devices, machinery, transportation, communications and energy systems.
From module to manuscript
This research is becoming a book.
Every interface, sourcing question and production decision contributes to a larger examination of American industrial capacity, capability, competency and skilled labor. The long-term endeavor is to turn that study into a book, the book into a startup and the startup into part of a new American industrial revolution.
